OUR APPROACH
At Moulins Demain, we support project leaders (mill owners, communities, businesses, citizen groups) in developing the hydroelectric potential of their site.
The objective: to transform old water mills into a source of renewable and local electricity.
OUR ENGAGEMENT
Rehabilitate historical heritage and enhance its potential
At Moulins Demain, we work to preserve the historical heritage of water mills. Our mission is to rehabilitate these places steeped in history, industrial heritage from the Middle Ages.
Today, this heritage can be used to help meet the current challenges of the energy transition.
By combining tradition and the know-how of our ancestors and technology to transform old mills into sources of renewable energy, we only work on existing sites, making them useful for future generations. By rehabilitating these treasures of the past, we are creating a more sustainable future.
Join us in this adventure where history and innovation meet for a better world.

Why Moulins Demain?
Maxime Delacourt
Founder of Moulins Demain
I get asked this question a lot, so I decided to answer it today as I usually answer, 𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀:
𝟭. 𝗝𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲 𝗱'𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗱 𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗹𝗲, 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘂𝘀.👨🏻🦳
🏰 Passionate about mills, he is a guide at the Moulin à Eau de Cougnaguet, a magnificent fortified mill from the 14th century located near Rocamadour in the Lot.
💭 It's this magical place (in photo) that inspired me when I was young, and it was Marius who passed this passion on to me. Thanks to him. 🙏
😍 Curious about heritage and old stones, I encourage you to visit it: built by Cistercian monks, this mill still grinds flour and guarantees the visitor a real journey through time!
𝟮. 𝗝𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶 𝗱𝘂 𝗟𝗼𝘁, 𝗱𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘀.🌳
🌾 From my attachment to rural areas.
🌱 From this desire to implement projects that make sense and create value in these territories that we don't talk about enough.
𝟯. 𝗝𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗲𝘂𝘅 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝘂𝘅𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗲𝗮𝘂 𝗽𝗲𝘂𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗲́𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲. 🌪️
⛽️ Because it is crucial to find local alternatives to fossil fuels to limit climate change.
🔎 Because in my opinion it is essential that these energy sources be decentralized, as close as possible to citizens.
🏚️ Because these mills already exist, it is therefore not a question of creating new infrastructure but of putting them back into service.
⚡️ Because current technologies make it possible to produce energy in these places, with controlled technologies, without interruption and with a very low carbon impact.
